Skiing for 12 hours
Räkäposkella is a traditional 12 hour skiing event at the "Crazy's triangle" 1,6 km skitrack at Mehtimäki. The skiing is done in teams, so that at least one person from said team is always on the track. It is recommended that the teams have a recognizable theme. You don't have to be a student to participate, everyone is welcome! The event is held every year during february or march.
The skiing starts at 7 o'clock in the morning at the crossing of ski tracks behind Natura building and continues until 7 pm. There is no limit for the freezing temperatures, so you must keep yourself moving. It is also possible to use a sauna, bathe in a finnish hot tub and do all kinds of appropriate side activities, such as hydrating.
Spectators are very welcome to join the wild nature of a unique sporting event and cheer everyone on. As a spectator you can observe how Finland is being skied back on to the map of world and sporting history is being made live!
